Reports of a footage has been released on the internet tonight that shows one of the hostages begging for the Japanese Government to met their captives demands. He claimed his companion was executed and said the Islamic State want him swapped for a female suicide bomber.

Kenji Goto shows a picture of the beheaded body of his fellow captive, Haruna Yukawa, reported by the SITE Intel Group, which is an organization who track the online activity of known terrorists. He also states that ISIS now wants the release of Sajida al-Rishawi, an alleged attempted suicide bomber, who is believed to be connected to the attack on a hotel in Jordan in 2005.

This video has not yet been officially Authenticated by the Japanese officials as yet and we are still wait to hear further as this developing story comes out of Japan.

So Far:

Last Tuesday 2 Asian men were captured and held hostage. They were captured by the terrorist group known as ISIS. The first footage claimed to demand the Japanese government to pay a ransom of $200 million in exchange for these 2 Japanese hostages. This figure strangely enough, was the same figure of money that Japan had pledged to pay as a contribution to the US-led campaign against ISIS.

The terrorist group had published a video on several extremist websites showing two Asian men wearing orange fatigues on their knees alongside a masked man in black standing over them and holding a knife. The man said the militant group demanded the ransom be paid within 72 hours in return for the hostage’s lives.

This alone is a massive amount and is a NEW tactic by ISIS which you may wonder why? What is the reason behind this demand? and why so high? More so what was the meaning for this figure?

Some may say that its to help them with funding so to gain more ground and other may say it was purely due to get more of a reaction and attention by all western countries and media….either way not many countries have ever released funds as ransom in exchange for the release of hostages.

Japan has openly stated that they would try to communicate with the heads of the organised ISIS group for the release of their 2 citizens but as yet to pay anything nor have they managed to make contact with this terrorist group.

The Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said multiple times that he will not give in to terrorism. However, his government vowed to rescue the Japanese nationals, with the Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga stating that the government “is doing everything it can, and saving lives is the top priority.”

Until now it appears that they have failed to do so and has been blamed by the hostage in the new footage, for the death of his fellow captive, Haruna Yukawa.
