I cannot believe I’ve been buying halal certified food for so long and didn’t know. It is a disgrace that I cannot go to the supermarket and choose to not buy this religiously tainted food. It is against my religion to eat the mark of Allah a moon god, yet I’m guaranteed to accidentally buy something that is halal certified because the gvt wants to make money off my ignorance! Not to mention the inhumane suffering of animals. We came so far in protecting animals and now find the economy now benefits from animal cruelty through Islamic sacrifice. We can do better!

    • Your definitely right that it has been a hidden thing. But not no more. It is a disgrace that our religions are persecuted over halal, but that seems to be ok?

It has been proven many times, that halal certification is a tax free money making scam. The proof became very clear when certification was added to pet food, toilet paper and sanitry items.

This is what I sent in, maybe you could use some of it……………..Halal Certification started I believe in the early nineties and we had Muslims living in Australia before then. What did they eat before the certification? Did not Muslim women use tampons before they were certified? Why do we need certified dog and cat food or bubble wrap? Halal in Arabic translates as permitted or allowed. Halal Certification, we are informed is a requirement of the Islamic faith and also to make our food inclusive of our diverse and multicultural society. So let us look at some facts about halal food. The Koran states that all things on earth are halal unless mentioned otherwise like pork or alcohol. The Koran also states that the food of the ‘People of the Scriptures’ (Christians and Jews) is also halal, unless mentioned otherwise like pork or alcohol. The Koran also states that if a Muslim inadvertently eats something non halal, then there is no harm done. The Koran also states that to make sure food is halal a Muslim only has to say ‘Bismillah’ over the food, similar to a Christian saying grace. Sikhs, Buddhists, Hindus and Jews are forbidden by their religion to eat halal food. Indonesia has one ‘Certification’ body controlled by the government and charges only a small fee. Halal Certification is not needed or wanted. Halal food is not the contentious issue; it is the unnecessary fee that is paid and passed on to the consumer. Thank you for your time to read this.

With prayer from all directions, we hope for a very positive outcome. Where in Australia we won’t be subjected to this anymore.

Why should we have to pay a religious tax on our food that only benefits one religion? And we’re is this money going????? I boycott anything that is halal certified now and will continue doing so.
